  • NVQ Academy highly recommends that any Children’s Residential Service should consider the QCF Level 3 Diploma for the Children & Young People’s Workforce (Social Care Pathway) for its entire support staff.

  • Any member of your residential staff who has completed his/her probationary period is a likely candidate for the QCF Level 3 Diploma for the Children & Young People’s Workforce.

  • The QCF Level 3 Diploma for the Children & Young People’s Workforce is also recommended for your senior residential staff.

  • Those who have previous experience working in other residential or school environments will have accumulated even more knowledge, skills and experience to do the QCF Level 3 Diploma for the Children & Young People’s Workforce.

  • Our experience has shown that many residential staff in specialist provision often take on additional responsibilities (for example key working). Such responsibilities require the skills and aptitude required to provide the evidence and knowledge base for the 3 Units making up the QCF Level 3 Diploma for the Children & Young People’s Workforce (Social Care Pathway).
  • A Level 2 Certificate for Children and Young People's Workforce is also available - please ask for more details
  • NVQ Academy highly recommends that any Residential Service should consider the QCF Level 3 Diploma Health & Social Care (Adults) for its entire support staff. The Award has 3 different pathways to choose from depending on your care setting:- Learning Disability, Dementia or General.

  • Any member of your residential staff who has completed his/her probationary period is a likely candidate for the QCF Level 3 Diploma Health & Social Care (Adults)

  • The QCF Level 3 Diploma Health & Social Care (Adults) is also recommended for your senior residential staff.

Please note the NVQ Level 4 (Health &Social Care /Children &Young People) has now been replaced by the Level 5

  • We highly recommend any Organisation offering a specialised service to consider a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services (England) (QCF) Award to senior members of staff (with responsibility for other staff)

  • The Level 5 Diploma comes with pathways to match job roles. Pathways exist for:

    • Residential managers (Adult Health and Social Care)
    • Residential managers  (Children and Young People Services)
    • Managers (Adult Health and Social Care)
    • Managers (Children and Young People Services)
    • Advanced Practice (Adult Health and Social Care)
    • Advanced Practice (Children and Young People Services)

  • We highly recommend any Organisation offering a specialised service to consider a Level 5 Award to senior members of staff who hold Level 3 

  • Any member of your staff who is in a “management” position is a likely candidate for level 5 

  • Those who have previous experience as managers or seniors working in care environments will have accumulated even more knowledge, skills and experience to do a Level 5 qualification.
