Please tell your boss about us. Tell her/him to look at the web-site and give us a call. Sadly we cannot provide a service for individuals because of our on-site commitment and the costs involved – anyway doesn’t your boss owe it to you to pay for your qualification and dedication? 

Whenever I meet anyone who is doing an NVQ they carry huge amounts of paperwork around with them – is this normal? 

For 95% of Centres apparently yes! Don’t worry though we have spent the last ten years customising and designing paperwork and a system that enables you – as a  candidate - to complete your Award with very few pieces of paper. I can assure you however that we do not cut corners – we just know the requirements – after all that is all we do all day and every day.

I am not as good at paperwork as some of the others I work with – does that matter? 

We are not in business to embarrass people – we are determined to qualify you for the specialist job you do. I am sure that if we asked your clients or indeed their relatives if you were good at your job – your academic ability and recording skills would probably not even come into the equation. The question we – and they – ask is “can this person do their job?” I am sure your answer would be yes – so our system is designed to enable evidence to be recorded in whatever way you choose (writing is not the only way).

Will I be made to feel stupid if I can’t do something?

On the contrary – you will be made to feel special – there is nothing you cannot do – you prove your worth on a t day-to-day basis.

Briefly – how does the system work?

We train an Assessor to work with you in the workplace and assess you holistically. Everything you do on a day-to-day basis forms part of the evidence towards your Qualification. We waste nothing and do not expect you to do anything else other than your job (as long as you do it well).

The system enables you to analyse and reflect on the way you carry out your duties and more importantly – why you do them that way. During sessions with your assessor you will develop a more acute self-awareness. The process is particularly useful in enhancing your staff supervision and appraisal sessions.       

When can I get started?

The great thing is there is no such thing as term time. You can start when you like (January to November – we close for December) and the whole qualification should take in the region of six months. Not a bad sacrifice to be able to feel really good about your work-role.

Do I pay for it myself?

You can do – but we prefer to work in partnership with your employer. When an Organisation – or a Local Authority – fund qualifications for all it sends out a clear message that everyone is involved working and supporting each other.

Does my workplace benefit from such a qualification?

It certainly helps as evidence for meeting standards for Ofsted/CSCI Reports etc. You will receive a Nationally Recognised Qualification including a Certificate to prove beyond doubt to yourself – and everybody else – that you are a professionally competent member of staff

What do I get from an Induction and Qualification Combination (the COMBO) ?

Put very simply – you will be approximately 30% qualified by the end of the probationary period. So often we see a carer like you securing a long-term contract after the induction – but then having to start the build up to qualification from square one.
